The web boasts a number of different resources for science teachers and students alike, ranging from tutorials to calculators, to reference libraries and virtual experimental laboratories. Here follow some interesting science links. We hope you will find them useful

Calculators On-Line Center - there are over 11000 calculators in this Martindale's resource center. Calculators are for physics, maths, stats, chemistry, and chemical, mechanical and electrical engineering.

Physics Tutorials - from the University of Guelph, includes tutorials of dynamics, statics, rotational motion,etc. Ther are also remedial tutorials on topics such as graphing, algebra, vectors and conversions. Some simulations are also available.

Virtual Laboratory - from John Hopkins University. The site uses Java to simulate engineering and science laboratory projects on your computer. Projects include: Bridge Designer, Robotic Control, Drilling For Oil, Diffusion and Heat Transfer.

Physics Fun - From Clemson Education. Video segments of fun physics experiments, including How does a slinky fall? The Bungee Jumper and The Balancing Man.

NASA Observatorium - NASA's Observatorium is a public access site for Earth and space data. There are pictures of the Earth, planets, stars, and other cool stuff, as well as the stories behind those images.

NASA Spacelink - Aeronautics and Space resources for Education since 1988. Includes interactivity, such as the mars quest as well as quiz sections and a searchable data base of educational articles.

Design and Technology - resources for DT on the web, includes: Inverntions, Mechanisms, Toys and Transport. You will find links to design and technology sites in England and other parts of the world.

Irydium Chemistry - Project sponsored by the American National Science Foundation.The applets link takes you to current Java applets for chemical education. The concept tests provide qualitative questions for use in chemistry lectures.

Ask Eric - the educational database with the personal touch. Particularly useful for South African lecturers is the lesson plan database.
