Bending Moments and Shearing Force
PERT'S philosophy of mechanical engineering training can be summed up in three words: visible and functional. PERT equipment clearly illustrates concepts and provides easy and workable experiments. Bending Moment Apparatus
This demonstration unit facilitates the experimental investigation of the progression of the bending moment and shearing forces on a bar subject to point loads. In addition, the section principle commonly used in mechanics can be demonstrated.
Due to
the use of a low friction joint with two degrees of freedom at 1/3 of the span
and two dynamometers, the measurements can be recorded directly from the
bar. The deflection of the bar as aresult of the travel of the dynamometers
and the horizontal alignment can be compensated and regulated using two adjustment
bolts. The bar is loaded with graduated sets of weights that can be attached
at any point on the bar.
